Alongside his performing schedule, Chris is equally in demand as a singing teacher.

Chris ensures his pupils reach their true potential through a linear progression made possible through his expert knowledge of the voice. From classical to musical theatre, pupils learn to sing as healthily and efficiently as possible.
His students regularly perform on the West End, live on radio/television, and have gained full scholarships at prestigious specialist music schools, conservatories, and choral scholarships at both Oxbridge and Durham colleges, as well as cathedrals across the country.

His pupils have a 100% merit (and above) rate for ABRSM graded exams. Alongside teaching privately, he also teaches singing to the Choristers of Wakefield Cathedral, the Choral Scholars of Sheffield Cathedral, and the pupils of Gateways Independent School in Harewood. He holds an enhanced DBS certificate and has completed NSPCC training in child protection.

Julie

‘As a very talented tenor, Chris ‘can do’ as well as teach. My daughter, now studying for her DipABRSM, has been having lessons with Chris since September 2020. Lessons are both in-person and online during the pandemic. Chris has a good understanding of the technical side of singing and delivers flexible lessons, tailored to his students’ needs. His teaching style is challenging, sensitive and enjoyable. Chris is very supportive of his students and exhibits a great deal of pride in their achievements. I highly recommend Chris as a vocal coach.’

Andrew

‘I've learnt a lot in a very short amount of time and (sometimes not in person due to the pandemic) since working with Chris. He is always positive, honest, encouraging and goes along with my pace. I really enjoy my lessons with him and my confidence has grown so much in both singing and as a person.’

Lizzie

‘Our son was a pupil of Chris throughout his GCSE years. Having been a chorister, Chris was fantastic at enabling him to begin to get to grips with his emerging adult voice. Chris allowed him to understand the aspects of singing from technical, theoretical, and musical perspectives. Which, in turn, has developed his overall musicianship. During this period of time, Chris enabled him to prepare for GCSE performances and auditions for a specialist sixth form - both of which have proved successful due to the excellent support and tuition Chris gave.

I have sat outside of Chris’s lessons, and I’m very well aware of the impact that Chris has had on my son. Not only the musical and vocal development, but also his development as an individual. I highly recommend him as an encouraging, patient, and firm teacher, who enables his students to develop and flourish.’
